Eastchester, New York
The Town of Eastchester, New York has a population of approximately 31,000. The town was originally settled in 1664 by 10 families that migrated from Fairfield, Connecticut, and is five square miles. Eastchester was a farming community at the time of the American Revolution. Aaron Burr tried cases at the St. Paul’s Church in the 1790’s, when Westchester County litigated cases in Eastchester.
Eastchester is home to the Marble Schoolhouse, a one room schoolhouse built in 1835 with “Tuckahoe Marble.” The Eastchester Town Hall was originally a farm and is the only town hall in Westchester County that has both town department offices and hosts civic functions.
